Description
Our Neem Ayurvastra Ayurvedic Mask is made from hand loom 100% organic, soft cotton. The mask wraps around your face in a comfortable fit; per recommendations for face masks it also covers both your nose and mouth, and is fully breathable. The special dyeing technique of creating the Ayurvastra fabric means the cloth itself imbibes the qualities of the medicinal dye used. In added benefits, per Ayurvedic traditions, Neem is said to balance the dosha of pitta in the body. It is also said to have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antihistamine properties. It’s the plant affectionately called ‘the village pharmacy.’
Why An Ayurvedic Mask
The wisdom of Ayurveda goes back over 7000 years. This medicinal discipline is a renowned science of spirit, mind, and body that works from a holistic perspective of uplifting the overall health of the individual, rather than a categorised approach. AdiValka’s Ayurvedic masks, like all of our products, are more than simply physical protective measures during the times of ill-health and fear.
Our Ayurvedic masks are crafted from fabric that is chemically-free, dyed with medicinal herbs and shrubs — Ayurvastra. This fabric, loosely translated to ‘healthy clothing,’ helps to bring the body back to a state of balance and health. The medicinal dyes used for each kind of mask also adds an added benefit for the wearer, helping boost immunity, protect from toxins, and much more.
How They Are Crafted
The crafting of Ayurvastra is an ancient technique of dyeing clothes so that they take on the medicinal properties of the herbs used to dye them. 100% organic cotton is used as the base with dyes such as Neem, Aloe Vera, Turmeric, and Tulasi used to infuse the fabric with medinicial properties. Along with each main herb used as a base dye, each fabric is dyed with 50 additional medicinal herbs.
One of the most important aspects of the masks is that every part of the dyeing and finishing process remains chemical free, allowing the herbs to retain their medicinal properties. This also keeps the fabric free from toxins and irritants, with only natural, eco-friendly processes used to create them.
Usage & Care
Wash the mask after each use and dry in sunlight. Always make sure the mask is completely dry before using it — never wear a mask that is damp or soiled with spit or mucus.
